Seasonal Load Restrictions End on May 12The City of Thunder Bay will lift seasonal load restrictions on Monday, May 12, at 7 am. These temporary weight limits, which began on March 24 in line with the Ministry of Transportation’s provincial guidelines, will no longer be in effect after this time.

Temporary Road Closure on Hazelwood DriveThe City of Thunder Bay is advising residents that Hazelwood Drive, approximately 300 metres south of Melbourne Road, will be closed on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 8 am to 5 pm, to allow for an emergency culvert repair.Local traffic will be permitted up to the closure point, but through traffic is advised to seek alternate routes during this time.May 06, 2025
City resumes some animal services to better serve the publicThe City of Thunder Bay’s Licensing & Enforcement Division will resume some services to better assist domestic animals, their owners, and the general public.
The changes include responding to complaints involving dogs and cats running at large in a more timely manner, and accepting animals at the Municipal Kennel who are found at-large.
