Beginning Monday, October 5, Route 15 will operate on detour due to construction on Beverly Street. 

Route Changes

• Route 15 will not operate along Beverly Street, instead detouring via Oliver Road between Balmoral Street and High Street.
• This detour is expected to be in place for approximately four weeks.

The following stops will not be serviced during the detour:

Travelling toward Intercity:

• Stop 1869 – Beverly / Fulton
• Stop 1298 – Beverly / Ravenwood
• Stop 1299 – Beverly / Darwin
• Stop 1300 – Community Auditorium
• Stop 1301 – Tbaytel Park

Travelling toward the University:

• Stop 1212 – Canada Games Complex
• Stop 1213 – Community Auditorium
• Stop 1214 – Beverly / Newton
• Stop 1216 – Beverly / Ravenwood
• Stop 1868 – Beverly / Oasis 

Passengers are encouraged to use nearby stops and allow extra travel time while this closure is in effect.

Beginning Monday, June 29, 2026, Routes 12 East End and 16 Balmoral will operate on detour due to the City's Pacific Avenue bridge construction project. The detour is expected to remain in effect through late Fall 2026.

Route Changes

Route 16 Balmoral

• Regular service will continue between City Hall and Confederation College.
• On return trips, buses will transition into the East End route at Balmoral Avenue & Dease Street rather than returning directly to City Hall.

Route 12 East End

• Buses will operate on a revised route using Main Street and Fort William Road to access the East End.
• Customers may experience slightly longer travel times during construction.

Temporary Stop Relocation

The stop at McPherson St. & Connolly St. has been temporarily relocated to Pacific Avenue, just before the McPherson Street intersection beside the church.

Additional temporary stops have also been added along Fort William Road to help maintain service during the detour.

We appreciate your patience as this important infrastructure work is completed.

Beginning Monday, June 8, 2026, Cumberland Street between Pearl Street and Park Avenue will be closed as part of ongoing downtown revitalization efforts.

As a result, Thunder Bay Transit routes serving Waterfront Terminal will use alternate routing to enter and exit the terminal area.

Affected routes:

• Route 1 Mainline
• Route 2 Crosstown
• Route 11 John
• Route 13 John/Jumbo

Stops temporarily out of service:

• Stop #1189 – Cumberland & Red River Rd
• Stop #1190 – Cumberland & Pearl
• Stop #1120 – Cumberland & Red River Rd

Starting Monday, June 22, 2026, and continuing until approximately August 3, 2026, Oliver Road will be closed between Ray Boulevard and Enniskillen Street for road construction.

As a result, the following routes will be on detour:

• Route 2 Crosstown
• Route 11 John
• Route 13 John/Jumbo

Passengers travelling on these routes may experience minor delays and should plan accordingly.
